Roquemaure Wondrous, powerfully imaginative and mesmerizing, this could describe Fogweaver in a few words... gorgeous release, as always! This is the kind of music I can loop and fly away to fantasy lands. Very inspiring, and very special, in a beautiful, otherworldly way... Favorite track: A Dragon-Hafted Key.

1 Auxy carry's me away to world far nicer than the one which we live. Favorite track: An Echo of a Distant Light.

Dave Aftandilian For me _Labyrinthine_ feels like more of an inward journey: standing outside oneself and observing joy, suffering, questioning; emotions passing across one's face like clouds across the sky. All are real and true, yet also impermanent; destined to appear, crest, and fade, like life itself--only to begin anew. Such a lovely, crystalline, Mysterious sound and journey!

about

"Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward towards the light; but the laden traveler may never reach the end of it."

Based entirely on the second Earthsea book, The Tombs of Atuan, "Labyrinthine" explores themes of freedom, responsibility, autonomy, and liberation. Tackling the themes of The Tombs of Atuan was a bit of an intimidating process for me. I knew I had to explore this aspect of Earthsea at some point and, for those of you who have read Earthsea, you know how much Atuan stands out from much of the rest of the books. The darker tone, the dread, the melancholy, the isolation, is all so different from other aspects of Earthsea in its adventurous yet, at times, somber nature.

Yet the journey of Tenar is something I come back to a lot, especially as an adult. The ideas of being pushed into a world and told exactly who you are and what the world is--to be told to not question, but to accept this world--this is all something that many of us can connect to, I imagine. And breaking free from that is a terrifying, yet a cathartic and, oftentimes necessary, part of growth as a human being.

There is much to say, but perhaps I will let the music guide you and speak to you in its own magical way. Thank you all for caring. Fogweaver, in many ways, is my werelight in the darkness of the world, and it means the world to me that people connect to it.

Thank you to my dungeon guild, my dear patrons, my loving and supportive partner, and, as always, Ursula K. Le Guin.

Hails to: all of the friends I have made over these years and all of the people who care about what I do, be it Fogweaver or whatever else. To my compatriot Erreth-Akbe, for being a source of endless inspiration, Earthsea discussions, and other lovely conversation. To Foreign Sounds and Out of Season for believing in me. To Jon for always being willing to make my work shine. To Sieskja for yet again bringing your magic to this work. To Lila, Davey, and Anthony for listening to these songs amidst my nervous uncertainty.

Hails to dungeon synth, to Earthsea, and to you listener!

Forever dedicated to Ursula K. Le Guin.
